Pomona College, Studio Art Hall

Inspiring structure

Nested in the heart of Pomona College, the new Studio Art Hall serves as a interdisciplinary art hub, hosting the multiple design studios, shops and educational spaces offered by the Art Department.

The exposed structure is as subtle reminder of purpose, creativity and craftsmanship by achieving a curved roof geometry with only a handful of curved steel members.

The project received the 2015 AISC Design Ideas2 Award, in recognition of outstanding achievement in engineering and architecture for structural steel projects across the country.
