A remodel of a historic commercial building on Abbot Kinney. The corner building had originally been a store and in recent years had been used as a music studio and a yoga studio. This project brought the project back to its roots as a new home for the apparel company, Everlane.

As an unreinforced masonry building, great care was taken not to compromise an earlier retrofit while creating a modern commercial space. The project included a new moment frame to reintroduce an original front opening, walled over as part of the earlier retrofit.

A new central steel beam eliminates the central column line, while new skylights provide natural lighting through the existing exposed roof joists.
