Winner of the 2021 AIA LA Residential Architecture Award and the 2022 National Small Projects Award, this house was built to complement a neighboring house by the same architect, creating a compound spread over two plots.

The house features a reinforced concrete second-floor slab supported by expressive cast-in-place concrete walls. The upper structure is wood framed, accentuated by the wood cladding and wood batten framed screens and walkways.

The roof joists are exposed and aligned perpendicular to the curve of the undulating roof to optimize efficiency and the expression of the wood.
